Ilion - Mrs. Mary Louise Eddy, 85, of Ilion, passed away peacefully at her home with her loving family by her side. She was born in Waterville, NY on September 19, 1937, the daughter of the late William and Edna Riverburg Ostrander. She was married for many blessed years to the late Lewis Eddy who passed away on September 16, 2009. Mary was employed for many years at General Electric in Utica and also at Remington Arms in Ilion. She enjoyed traveling, camping, hiking and spending time with her family most of all. Mary is survived by her children, Julie Welch of Clinton, NY, Laura Schultz of Edmeston, NY, Kenneth Welch of Ilion, NY, Connie Eddy (Bryan Thomas) of Clayville, NY and Raymond (Joelle) Eddy of Auburn, NY; also 6 grandsons and 3 granddaughters. She is also survived by her sister, June Hull of Clayville, NY; a brother, Charles Ostrander of Connelly, NY and many special nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by several brothers and sisters. Her family would like to thank Hospice for their excellent care and compassion given to them and their mom, especially her nurse Ann. In keeping with Mary’s wishes there will be no public services. Arrangements are under the direction of the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home, 100 Otsego St. Ilion, NY 13357.
