MOHAWK – Donna Bridger Schoendorf of Mohawk, NY, passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare Center with her loving family by her side. Donna was born on December 3, 1938, and was the daughter of Virginia (Judy) and Harold Bridger. She attended Mohawk Schools and was married to John (Jack) W. Schoendorf on June 28, 1958. They shared 63 years of marriage before Jack’s passing last year. Donna worked for George F. Aney for many years before her retirement and was a communicant of St. Augustine Episcopal Church in Ilion, NY. Donna was a member of many organizations. She was an active volunteer for the New York State Republican Party for many years, she was Past President of the Mohawk Valley Nursing Home Foundation, and very active in the Lady Elks of Herkimer Lodge 1439. Donna was a very avid craft person who especially loved knitting and crocheting for her grandchildren and great granddaughter. She was also an amazing baker who at the Holidays, would made the most delectable cookies, and share trays with family, friends and co-workers who were always eagerly awaiting them. She leaves her two daughters, Lori Kline (Steve) and Jodi-Lyn Humphrey. She also leaves three very special grandchildren, Ryan Humphrey, Stephen Kline (Tallis Warren), and Kaitlyn (Earl) Nicholson; and her great granddaughter, Ivy Nicholson, who she was able to meet for the first time just prior to her passing. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Katherine, Linda, Pam and others with the Hawthorne House at the Sitrin Healthcare Center for the care and friendship they gave to our Mother over the years. The family will honor and commemorate Donna’s life in a private gathering. She will be laid to rest with her husband, “Jack” in the Mohawk Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home, 100 Otsego St., Ilion. To leave condolences for Donna’s family, please visit www.whiter-hendrix.com
