Father Greene was simply one of the finest people we had the pleasure of knowing. He was the kindest man, frequently making hospital visits to those not even in his Parish. Our hearts hurt with this loss but we take comfort that we had the privilege of knowing him. Shirley, we want you to know we are thinking of you and the children and will never forget all the great times spent at church and church functions.

We were privileged to have George and Shirley as our neighbors when we first bought our home across Otsego Street. They were welcoming and helpful, and even offered Rachel's services as a babysitter (which we eagerly took advantage of). We did not spend as much time with them after they moved, but that does not diminish the sense of loss. He was a man who truly lived his values, and brightened the lives of those fortunate to know him.
We regret that we are not able to be there to offer our condolences in person. May your memories bring comfort to you.

To the Greene family , my sincere condolences. I was an acolyte for Father Greene all through my high school years. He was a welcome presence for my family through life’s celebrations and losses. Father Greene officiated our wedding in 1976 and later the funeral services for my father and brother.
Besides being a terrific spiritual leader he was a good man with a great sense of humor and humility. Rest in peace Father.
