Ilion Delores "Gail" Pickett, 69 of Ilion passed away on Monday November 15, 2010 in SUNY Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse. Delores was born on May 9, 1941 in Morgantown West Virginia the daughter of the late Earl and Nona (Mayberry) Porter, and was educated in Kentucky. On May 14, 1966 in Garcon KY, she was united in marriage with Joseph Pickett Jr. Delores is survived by her husband Joe, a son William Carpenter of MD, three daughters Linda Carpenter, Carol Platt and Kathy Pickett all of Ilion, her brother Johnny Porter of KY, her sisters Janet Harris and Phyllis Royce of KY and Lois Gartin and Priscilla Thompson of OH, her father in law Joseph Pickett Sr. she also leaves her grandchildren; Jake, Jennifer and Erica Carpenter and Tara Ball all of MD, Kayla Platt and Stephanie Pickett of Ilion. Her great grandchildren; Alec, Jack Carpenter and Will Ball all of MD, Landon Pickett and Taner Moss of Ilion. She also leaves her special friend Mary LaPoint of Ilion. Delores is predeceased by her sisters Barbara Gartin and Ottie Mary Porter, her brothers Russell, Roger, William and Talmadge Porter, and her grandson Todd Pickett. Funeral services for Delores will be held on Friday November 19, 2010 at 12:00 pm (Noon) at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home Inc. 100 Otsego St. in Ilion, Deacon James Bower will officiate. Interment will follow in the Kinne Cemetery in the Tn. of Litchfield. Friends may call on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral.
