Ilion
Kathleen Reed, 98, of Ilion passed away on Thursday July 9, 2009 at Valley Health Services in Herkimer.
Kathleen was born on August 13, 1910 in Frankfort, NY, the daughter of the late William H. and Agnes (Ragan) Williams. She was a graduate of Frankfort Schools.
On August 30, 1930 in Ilion Kathleen was united in marriage to Roscoe L. Reed, he passed away on September 6, 1979.
Kathleen was employed as a cashier with Loblaw's market, retiring several years ago. She enjoyed playing Bingo and taking her grandchildren to Lou's in Mohawk for ice cream. She was of the Methodist faith.
Kathleen is survived by three sons: Roscoe and his wife Patricia of Ilion, William of Ilion and Robert and his wife Sue of Knoxboro. She also leaves 12 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
In keeping with Kathleen's wishes there are no calling hours and funeral services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family.

The Whiter Funeral Company was started in 1893 by H.A. Whiter and was originally located in Forestport, NY. Following a fire in Forestport, the family relocated in Ilion, and reopened the funeral home in the early 1900's.
