Ilion Date Line Virginia "Ginny" Albin, 90, of 54 South Fourth Ave, Ilion passed away Wednesday April 15, 2015 in Rutland, VT. Ginny was born on November 20, 1924 in Utica, NY, the daughter of the late Clarence and Emma Smith Joslin, and was a 1943 Graduate of Bridgewater High School. On April 27, 1946 Ginny was united in marriage to Joseph L. Albin at her parent's home in Bridgewater. Joe passed away March 29, 1984. Ginny was employed by the New York Telephone Company prior to her marriage and worked at Big Jim's Subs in Herkimer for many years. She was a member of the Morning Star Methodist Church in Ilion, and was very active in church activities. She also was in the New York State Pioneers Club, and was an avid bowler. Ginny is survived by her children and their spouses: Richard Albin and Robin Forster of Eugene, OR, Donald and Cindy Albin of Ilion, and Patricia Albin-Diercksen and Peter Diercksen of Castleton, VT; her sisters Lois Kennedy of Clark Mills, Fern Burford and Linda Gillmore, both of Columbia, MD, Hazel Pugh of Baldwinsville, and her sister-in-law Rita Joslin of Clinton. She is survived by 8 grandchildren, Carole Fitzer, Michele Hummel, Todd Albin, Kyle, Anya, and Kurt Diercksen, and Starmichael and Sawithia Bowman, 8 Great Grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Ginny was predeceased by her brother Clarence Joslin Jr., and her sisters Ida Mae Joslin, Pauline Clemente, Ruth McNair, and Johanna Rowe. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours to be held on Monday April 20, 2015, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home Inc., 100 Otsego Street Ilion. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Robert Wollaber officiating. Interment will follow in the Armory Hill Cemetery, Ilion.
