Bessie Zember, 101, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2015 in Pasadena, Md. Bessie was born October 20, 1913 in Vermont, the daughter of the late James and Carmella DiBernardo, she attended schools in VT and was united in marriage with Frank Zember, he predeceased her.
Bessie was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church in Mohawk and for many years it's Rosary Society.
Bessie is survived by two Daughters and sons in law, Connie and Walter Hacker of Chippewa Bay, NY and Gail and Ray Scanlon of Pasadena, MD five grandchildren Becky, Greg, Stacey, Jody and Raymond, 13 great grandchildren and her sister Katherine Arpey of Saratoga Springs.
Graveside funeral services will be at a time and date to be announced in Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer. In keeping with Bessie's wishes there are no calling hours. Arrangements are with the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home, Inc., 100 Otsego St., Ilion.

The Whiter Funeral Company was started in 1893 by H.A. Whiter and was originally located in Forestport, NY. Following a fire in Forestport, the family relocated in Ilion, and reopened the funeral home in the early 1900's.
