Ilion Wallace Richard Gay Sr., 77 of Ilion, entered the presence of his Lord with family by his side, on Wednesday March 25, 2015. Dick was born on November 4, 1937 in Herkimer, the son of the late George and Annabelle (Jacquays) Gay. He attended Mohawk Schools and over the years started and operated many businesses locally including being co- owner of Tii's Kitchen in Ilion. He was a member of the Ilion Moose Lodge #1010 and was a past member of the Scottish Rite Masons. He was also a past member of Denison Corners Community Church. Dick is survived by his nine children; Wallace Richard Jr and Kimberly Gay, Denise (Gay) and Lee Friend, Donna (Gay) Burks, Daniel and Bonnie Gay, Diana (Gay) and Edward DiPrimo, Darlene (Gay) and Eric Staring, Terra (Moore) Rodio, Jackie (White) and Cory McDowell and Kyle Gay; a brother George "Butch" Gay; 24 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; many beloved nieces and nephews; and his former wives Alice Wrisley and Robin Gay. He is predeceased by his siblings, Dorothy Gay, Regina Wood, Jerry Gay, Chuck Gay, Bill Gay, Annabelle Earl, Nedda Thomes and son-in-law Zack Burks. Heartfelt thank you to his grandson Zackerus Burks II for the devoted care he provided. Visitation services will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 from 9-11 at Little Falls Baptist Church, 555 Albany St, Little Falls followed by a celebration of life service at 11 am. Friends are asked to consider memorial donations to either Bassett Healthcare or HARC. Envelopes will be provided at the church.
