Ilion Stephen M. Morris, 63, of McGowan Rd. in Ilion passed away on Thursday September 4, 2014 at home, with his family by his side. Steve was born on March 16, 1951 in Ilion the son of Richard and Martha (Davala) Morris. He was a graduate of Ilion Schools; Paul Smith's College and received his Bachelor's Degree from Niagara University. Steve was Operations Manager at Remington Arms Co. in Ilion until his retirement. He was a member of Ilion Elk's Lodge #1444, the Ilion Knights of Columbus, and The Church of The Annunciation. He was also an avid golfer belonging to Mohawk Valley Country Club, enjoyed fishing and was his grandkids number one sports fan. Steve is survived by his four children; Scott and (Michelle), Greg and (Megan), Brian and (Theresa) and Kelly and (Bill) Cave all of Ilion; his father Richard of MA; a brother Bill of Ilion and a sister Betsy Klupa of MA; seven grandchildren Caden, Jake, Luke and Tanner Morris and Collin, Madelyn and Gavin Cave. Steve also leaves the mother of his children Shelly Morris. He is predeceased by his mother Martha. A memorial mass for Steve will be celebrated on Tuesday September 9, 2014 at 10 am at the Church of The Annunciation in Ilion, Fr. Paul Catena will officiate. Interment will follow in the Armory Hill Cemetery in Ilion. Friends may call on Monday September 8, 2014 from 4 to 7 pm at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home Inc. 100 Otsego St. in Ilion and are asked to consider memorial donations to Hospice and Palliative Care, 4277 Middlesettlement Rd.
