Mohawk Date Line Bernadette Orendorff, 96 formerly of 129 Ferncliff Road, Mohawk, passed away Tuesday August 12, 2014 at Valley Health Services in Herkimer. Bernadette was born on August 17, 1917 in St. Joseph DeOrleans, Ontario, Canada the daughter of the late Alfred and Arzelie Scanlon Frechette, and received her education in the Tupper Lake and Herkimer Schools. On February 2, 1938 she was united in marriage to Gerald Orendorff in Herkimer, Gerald passed away on June 6, 2014. Bernadette was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother will be greatly missed by her family. She was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Church in Mohawk, Surviving her are her children Gerald and Janet Orendorff of Camillus, Gary and Janice Orendorff of Mohawk, Alfred and Nickie Orendorff of Canajoharie, Patricia and Bernard Rockwell of Mohawk, and Mary and John Recco of Richfield Springs, also 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Geraldine Mae Orendorff, her brothers Hector, Leon, Mendose, Arsen, Octave, and Rene Frechette, her sisters Alma Lafebvre, Lucille DePietro, Florida Ruffalo, Rosa Sassone, Ida Parese, and Louise Servadio. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial to be offered on Friday August 15, 2014 at 10:30AM at Blessed Sacrament Church in Mohawk with Fr. Mark Cunningham officiating, assisted by Parish Life Director Sr. Mary Jo Tallman; interment will follow in the Mohawk Cemetery Annex on Route 28. In keeping with the family's there will be no public calling hours.
