Ilion Steven C. Walker, 48, of St. Rt. 51, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2014. Steve was born in New Hartford on June 3, 1966 the son of Harry and Janet (Graham) Walker he attended Whitesboro Schools and was employed with Precision Polish of Frankfort. Steve's pride and joy was the (HILL) where he felt at home and was most comfortable. He loved anything with an engine, cars, trains and airplanes and was always there to help anyone who needed it, with their equipment as well as anything else. He was an animal lover and that was reflected in his care for his dogs and bird "Tucker". Steve will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Steve is survived by his companion of 25 years Billie Jean Leitz, his parents Harry and Janet of Herkimer a brother Larry of Lancaster, N.H. and a niece Alexandra, he was predeceased by his sister Terry. A memorial service for Steve will take place on Tuesday July 29, 2014 at 5pm at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home, Inc., 100 Otsego St., Ilion, with Rev. Robert Wollaber officiating; interment is private at the convenience of the family. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 pm until the time of the funeral.
