Ron "Tex" Fuhrer was my best friend since boyhood.I have too many fond memories which space will space limitations will not allow me to share. I would like to offer my love and support to Jan and to his family.I regret that I will be unable to come to Ilion for the services and to pay my respects to the family, as my schedule will not allow it.Tex will always hold a special place in my heart, and when we meet on the other side,Maybe we can get "Tex's Trio" back together with Jeff on drums. All my love,Mr & Mrs. Dave "Spook" Lester -Dave and Pam.

Jan and family, so sorry to hear that Ron lost his fight. He was a great guy with a great outlook and he will be missed by all. The smile and jokes were the best. Working with Ron at HCCC was always a pleasure. Many great memories from our Ilion HS days. I will never forget when we went to see Ron at Albany Med and he could barely speak, he said "Make sure they get new tires for th Gator this year!" A class act.

Dear Jan, Karen and family, I am so sad to hear of your loss. Ron was a great guy who I got to know when I worked the snack bar that first season at Wehrum stadium. A gentleman of high standards and simply, a great smile. My heart goes out to you from afar.

Jan, Brian, Karen and your families - my thoughts and heart go out to you at this time of grief and loss of Ron. While I haven't known Ron since our days at IHS, I remember well back then and he was an awesome friend, fun to be with and he and his "best buddy's" were certainly well known and especially connected. He is, as you know the person who cares, connects and will be remembered always.
While I will not be there tonight in person due to traveling distance and unfortunately an ill child of my own, I will be there in thought and prayer. My heart goes out to you all as you walk this next part of your journey. This is a time where words can't quite meet with feelings. Reach out as you can to those whom are there, take time alone where you need to ... and don't be hesitant to ask for anything. You have support near and far - if there is anything I can do do not hesitate to let me know. May you find some comfort in those with whom you are able to see tonight. Know you husband and your Dad will be always remembered!

H.C.C.C. has suffered a tremendous loss. Ron was a dedicated, hard worker whom will be truly missed. He and I always joked that no-one could clean my office like he could! I can still see his sheepish smile, as he walked through the door. Jan, Brian & Karen, how proud you must be to call him your Husband and Dad. His legend now lives on in you. May God grant you much strength and peace through this very difficult time. God Bless!
