Schuyler Seneca Castle- Katherine (Sterusky) Robbins, age 89, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2014, at her home. Katherine was born June 8, 1924; she was the daughter of Paul and Anna (Boar) Sterusky. Katherine moved to Fort Ann, NY in 1947 where she made her home for more than 50 years. She was a member of the United Protestant Church of Fort Ann, the Battle Hill Grange #861, served as a Cub Scout leader and a 4-H leader. Mrs. Robbins was an active member of the Battle Hill Order of the Eastern Star #262 for over 50 years, where she served as Grand Officer and Matron. Katherine was predeceased by her husband, Earl H. Robbins in 1998. She is survived by two daughters, Judy (Tom) Smithling of Seneca Castle, and Sherry (Richard) Boone of Blandon, PA; one son, Harry (Linda) Robbins of Frankfort, NY; six grandchildren, Kevin (Doreen) Smithling, Kort (Brooke) Smithling, Kerri (Brian) Bartlett, Ashley Boone, Travis (Amanda) Robbins and Todd (Kelly) Robbins; and 14 great-grandchildren, Robin Smithling, Amy Smithling, Morgan Smithling, Emmett Smithling, Samantha Smithling, Thomas Bartlett, Jacob Bartlett, Caleb Bartlett, Macy Robbins, Cade Robbins, Delaney Robbins, Harrison Robbins, Pryce Robbins, and Carter Robbins. Also several nieces and nephews and her Sister-in-law and very dear friend Betty Currier. Friends may call Wednesday, April 16th from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home, 100 Otsego St., Ilion, NY. A Funeral Service will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Lyle Robison will officiate; interment will follow in the East Schuyler Cemetery.
