A loving husband-a loving father and grandfather. A man who always had the ability to make people laugh. His wit and charming ways...all these qualities will be missed by all who knew and loved Bill Ackley. Every time we have a whiskey sour or Tanqeray Gin...we will smile and think of you.

We will always think of Mr. Ackley (who insisted we call him Bill) with a smile as he was very engaging and entertaining. It was our pleasure to have known such a good man.

So sorry for your loss. Although I didn't spend a lot of time with him, the times that I did I will always remember. He was such a sweet, charming man and I know he will be greatly missed.

We've been gone from the valley for over 25 years, but each year when we'd come back for a visit we'd always run into Bill. I worked for him in Remington, and Lynn worked with him. Such a wonderful man. Our hearts hurt for the family's loss. Rest in peace, Mr. Ackley.

The world says good-bye to one of the most loving and compassionate men we have ever known. It was an honor and a privilege to share the same birthday as Bill. He will always s hold a special place in our hearts. Hopefully, all the old buds are enjoying a round of golf together in their eternal home. Love and peace to all of you.

Unk was a one of a kind. I can remember all the times he made my brother Jeff and I laugh. We always were excited when we had the chance to visit with him and Aunt. We all loved being around him and wish now I had made more effort to visit with him when I could have. I am sure Jeff has mastered the Whiskey Sour by now and has one ready for Unk in their place in heaven. I will treasure the memories with Unk forever as they always bring a smile to my face.

My sympathy to John & Marilyn for the loss of their father. As I read the tributes to Mr. Ackley, I remember well that he was gentle and kind person who always greeted me with a smile no matter if at work or on the street corner. People like Mr. Ackley are truly representative of the “greatest generation the likes of which will not be seen again. Through you, his legacy lives on.

Please accept my heart sent sympathy during this period of sorrow over the death of your Dad. I know your memories will forever be a reminder to you of the happy times spent with him. These times and your faith will all be a reminder that someday, all families will be re-united into a world of joy and happiness; when illness and sorrow and weeping and pain will no longer exist.

So sorry to hear about your Dad. I ran into him a few years ago at the car dealers in Herkimer and we had quite a chat and he was the same man I remember from years ago when you all lived in Frankfort. Always comical and yet a man of great respect who treasured his children and grandchildren. May he rest in peace.
