Frankfort Hill Mitchell J. Dye, 54, of Albany Rd. in Frankfort, passed away Wednesday August 21, 2013, at home following a brief illness. Mitch was born in Ilion on August 5, 1959; he was the son of the late James and Doris (Brown) Dye. He was a graduate of Ilion schools. He worked several jobs throughout his life, most recently as a housekeeper at Faxton- St. Luke’s Health Care. Mitch was a very active member of the Frankfort Hill Volunteer Fire Dept., not only as a firefighter but also serving as secretary for the last 10 years. He is survived by his fiancé Carrie Hess; two sons Shawn and his wife Beth of Fly Creek, Brandon and his girlfriend Nicole of Cassville; three daughters Amanda Dye of Ilion, Tina Dye and her companion Joe Quayle of Frankfort and Nicole of Frankfort; two brothers Ken and his wife Colleen Dye of Cortland and Keith and his Wife Barb Dye of Ilion; a sister Sharon and her husband Jon Pedersen of Ilion; he also leaves 12 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mitch is pre deceased by a brother Steve. A memorial service for Mitch will be held on Wednesday August 28, 2013 at 1pm; at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home Inc. 100 Otsego St. in Ilion, with the fire dept. Chaplain Don Elthorp officiating, interment will follow in the Frankfort Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 11am until the time of the funeral.
