Frankfort Date Line Kenneth L. Higgins 67, of 212 Railroad Street, Frankfort passed away on Friday May 31, 2013 at his residence. Ken was born on March 3, 1946 in Ilion the son of the late Kenneth and Edith (Diehl) Higgins, and received his education in the Frankfort School System. For 29 years, Ken was employed as a Marine Engineer with the New York State Canal Corp, retiring in 1994. Ken was a member of the Frankfort Volunteer Fire Dept., and was one of the founding members of the Frankfort Ambulance Corp.; he was also a member of the Herkimer American Legion Post 38. Ken loved gardening, hunting and fishing and spending time with his grand children. Ken is survived by his companion Judy McClowskey of Frankfort; his sons Kenneth Jr. and his wife Stacie of Boonville, Vincent and his wife Sue Farrington Ohio and Michael Higgins of Ft. Plain; his daughter and son in law Melissa and Art Bayna of Arizona; his sister and brother in law Kandy and Robert Adsit of Frankfort; four grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins, Ken was predeceased by several family members. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service for Ken to be held on Thursday June 6, 2013 at 3:00 pm at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home Inc. 100 Otsego Street in Ilion, with Deacon James Bower officiating; interment will follow in the Armory Hill Cemetery, Ilion.
