Ilion Dale J. Ritton, 62, of 288 E. Clark St. in Ilion passed away on Thursday March 7, 2013 at Little Falls Hospital. Dale was born on January 22, 1951 in Rome, the daughter of the late Glenn. L. and Betty B. (Barber) Reed. She was educated in Ilion and worked as a Nursing Administrator at Utica Psychiatric Center, retiring in 2007. On April 7, 1979 Dale married Richard Ritton in Ilion. Dale was a member of the Ilion United Methodist Church and the American Nurses Association. She enjoyed sewing, reading, camping and most of all her grandchildren. Dale is survived by her husband Richard “Rick”; a son Michael and his wife Heather of Mohawk; a daughter Jessica and her husband Robert Wellington of Ilion; a brother Ronald Reed and his wife Dianne of Ilion; three sisters Joan and her husband Skip Crookes of Ilion, Pricilla and her husband James Wildey of Ilion and Deborah and her husband Pat Donohue of Mohawk. She also leaves her nine grandchildren Garrett, Reese and Carson Wellington, Madisen, Mackenzie, Camron and Leah Ritton and Raekwon and Alois Willis. Also surviving is her aunt Pearl Zagurski of Boonville and her canine companion Mack Dean. A memorial service for Dale will be held on Monday March 11, 2013 at 7pm at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home Inc. 100 Otsego St. in Ilion. Rev. Robert Wollaber will officiate, interment will be in the Armory Hill Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 5 to 7 pm at the funeral home.
