Juanita Jean Guerino, 79, of Georgian Arms in Rome, passed away on Monday, January 28, 2013 at the Betsy Ross Nursing Home.
Juanita was born on August 23, 1933 in Columbus Indiana the daughter of the late Harry and Agnes (Smith) Noel. She was educated in Columbus and devoted her life to raising her family.
Juanita was a member of the St. Anthony’s Church and the Herkimer Lady Elk’s.
Juanita is survived by two daughters and sons in law Debbie and Jerry Hitchcock of Gainsville, Ga; Mary and Kevin Knight of Rome; her son Richard Guerino of Lantana, FL., three sisters Nellie Mae Brock, Nedra Cutshaw, both of Indianapolis, IN. and Margie Bryant of Columbus IN; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Juanita will be held on Saturday February 2, 2013 at 1:00 pm at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home Inc 100 Otsego St. in Ilion, Deacon James Bower will officiate, and interment will be in the spring at Rome Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday following the funeral from 1:30 to 3 pm.

The Whiter Funeral Company was started in 1893 by H.A. Whiter and was originally located in Forestport, NY. Following a fire in Forestport, the family relocated in Ilion, and reopened the funeral home in the early 1900's.
