Joyce M. Casey
Mrs. Joyce M. Casey, 88, of Middleton, formerly of Ilion, beloved wife of the late Harold J. Casey, died Monday, October 1st, at Cedar Glen Care and Rehabilitation Center in Danvers, MA after a lengthy illness.
Born in Yorkville, New York on December 2, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Ellen (Lancaster) King. Raised and educated in Yorkville, she was a graduate of Whitesboro High School.
Married on September 13, 1955 to the love of her life, Joyce became a resident of Ilion, where she resided until Harold's passing in 2007. Joyce devoted herself to her family as a homemaker. She loved spending time with her family and took pride in all of their accomplishments. A devout Christian, Joyce was a very active member of St. Augustine's Episcopal Church and most recently a member of Trinity Church in Topsfield, MA. . A dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Joyce is survived by her two daughters, Cheryl P. O'Neill and her companion Joseph Gatto of Hopewell Junction, NY and Carole J.C. Graf and her husband Gregory of Middleton, her three grandchildren, Ashley E. O'Neill, Zachary C. Graf, and Hannah G. Graf, and extended family and friends. In addition to her late husband, Joyce was predeceased by her brother Lester King.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 2:00 pm for Joyce at Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home, 100 Otsego Street, Ilion, with Rev. John W. Bassett officiating. Interment will be in Armory Hill Cemetery, Ilion.
Friends are asked to consider memorials to St. Augustine's Altar Guild in Joyce's memory.

The Whiter Funeral Company was started in 1893 by H.A. Whiter and was originally located in Forestport, NY. Following a fire in Forestport, the family relocated in Ilion, and reopened the funeral home in the early 1900's.
