Ilion Date Line Elizabeth A. Harter 80 of 205 Otsego Street Ilion passed away Friday June 8, 2012 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica. Betty was born April 29, 1932 in Lowville, NY the daughter of the late Samuel G. and Florence Turner Studer, and received her education in the Lowville Schools, and attended Oswego St. College. On June 23, 1952 Betty was united in marriage to Robert T. Harter in Brazil, Indiana. For many years Betty along with her husband were owner and operators of the Otsego House in Ilion. Betty was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ilion, and was a former Sunday School Teacher. Betty is survived by her husband Robert, three sons and two daughters in lay Thomas and Mary Harter of Ilion, Daniel and his companion Lisa Barton of Mohawk, and Richard and Rosemary of Suffolk, VA, two daughters and sons in law Kathleen and Jerry Doxtader of Dexter, Maine, and Joyce and William Dack of Ilion, a sister and brother in law Elaine and Joe Leroux of Newton Falls, NY and a sister in law Ann Studer of GA. Her grand children Elizabeth and Thomas Harter, Daniel Harter, Bridgette Harter and her fianc Eric White, Samuel Silas, Salome, Sharon, Seth, Susanna and Sarah Doxtader, Andrew, Alex and Erica Dack, . Step grand children Luke Tobia, Megan and Matthew Barton, Shawn and Tonya and a great grandson Owen White. She was predeceased by her brothers Fred and Samuel Studer. Friends are invited to attend calling hours to be held on Monday June 11, 2012 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home Inc. 100 Otsego Street Ilion. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM with Rev. Robert Wollaber officiating. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family in the Armory Hill Cemetery Ilion.
