Donald J. Reid, 68, of 226 Oldfield Drive, Herkimer passed away Thursday February 9, 2012 at the Folt's Home in Herkimer.
He was born September 9, 1943 in Ilion the son of the late Irving and Florence Neale Reid. Donald was employed with the Herkimer Industries in Herkimer for several years.
Donald attended the Christian Missionary Alliance Church.
Donald is survived by three sisters; Faith Case of West Winfield, Marjorie Mc Anuff of Austin TX, and Sherry Mahoney of Utica; two brothers Robert of Ft. Plain and David of Frankfort also many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Thomas and Irving, and a sister Barbara Reid.
Friends are invited to attend calling hours to be held on Tuesday February 14, 2012 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home Inc. 100 Otsego Street Ilion. A funeral service for Don will be held on Wednesday February 15, 2012 at 11:30 AM at the Hope Alliance Church 4291 Middle Settlement Road New Hartford, with Pastor Andy Ward officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in the Armory Hill Cemetery in Ilion.

About Us
The Whiter Funeral Company was started in 1893 by H.A. Whiter and was originally located in Forestport, NY. Following a fire in Forestport, the family relocated in Ilion, and reopened the funeral home in the early 1900's.
