Ilion Martha Mary Unsinn, 93, of George St. in Ilion passed away at home on Thursday September 29, 2011. Martha was born on October 23, 1917 in Cullen, NY the daughter of the late James and Mabel (Robinson) Stewart. She attended Cullen grade school and graduated from Richfield High School. On June 7, 1947 Martha married Ronald Unsinn in the Richfield Presbyterian Church. During her life Martha worked at Remington Rand and Remington Arms, she also was a library assistant at North Street School in Ilion. She was a Den Mother with the Girl Scouts, a member of the Ilion Garden Club and the O.E.S. Martha was also an active member of the Ilion Presbyterian Church participating in church groups and activities. Martha is survived by her husband Ronald; her sons Donald and his wife Jackie of Frankfort and Douglas and his wife Joan of Florida; a daughter Karen and her husband Robert Macrina of Herkimer. She also leaves her grandchildren Bethany and Mike Hicks, Melissa and Kevin Macrina; Brianna, Alyssa and Amy Unsinn and great grandchildren Joshua, Daniel and Lauren Hicks. She was pre deceased by her brothers Irving and James. Funeral services for Martha will be held on Sunday October 2, 2011 at 2 pm at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home Inc. 100 Otsego St. in Ilion, Rev. Victor McKusick will officiate. Interment will be in the Armory Hill Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 11am until the time of the funeral.
