Spinnerville-Mohawk Nellamae Archer born on March 10, 1921 in her Spinnerville, New York home and passed away in the same home on Tuesday, April 5, 2011. She was married to Harold Nelson Archer on April 25, 1940; he passed away September 1, 1995. She was a real natural country woman who cooked organic food on her kitchen wood stove; burned wood every winter and maintained her own stoves. She rode a horse drawn wagon with her parents, Arthur and Nellie (Ostrander) Smith, on Polly Miller Road selling their homemade butter and cheese and eggs in Mohawk, New York. Nellamae leaves many cherished children who loved her molasses cookies and homemade bread. She is survived by her eight children, Howard (Janet) Archer, Doris (Nicholas) Hula, Lewis (Evelyn) Archer, Betty (Peter) Hula, Joan Archer, Sandra (Wasyl) Hula, George (Marcia) Archer and Bruce Archer. Her grandchildren, Howard, Jr., Amy, Marie, Lewis, Jr., Cindy, Larry, George, Jr., Melissa, Aaron, Nicholas, Doris Anna, Steven, Sonya, Betty Jane, Peter, Michael, Eva, Stephanie, Natalia, Jennie and Christina. Her great-grandchildren, Aiden, Hunter, Brandon, Nathan, Zachary, Gabriel, Addison, Amanda, Mark, Nicholas, Lalaina, David, Travis, Wasayla, Michayla, Natasha, Evonna, Alexandria, Kalyna, John, Izaak, Sophia, Vladimir, Sarah and Nina. She was predeceased by a half sister Madge Mahoney. All of us are going to miss her and hope she inherits heaven. Funeral services for Nellamae will be held on Friday; April 8, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home, Inc., 100 Otsego Street, Ilion, New York, Rev. Hans Drews will officiate. Interment will be in the North Columbia Cemetery. In keeping with her wishes there are no calling hours. Friends are asked to consider memorial donations to the American Heart Association.
