MOHAWK - Judy M. (Parsons) Dutcher, age 83, passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2023, in the comfort of her home with her loving family by her side. Born in Herkimer, on August 31, 1939, Judy was the daughter of the late Kyle and Harriett (Allen) Parsons. She was a graduate of Mohawk High School. She retired from Excellus Blue Cross Blue Shield. Judy was an avid fisherwoman, hiker, snowshoer, and kayaker. She loved a good adventure and some of those included, dog sledding, climbing Bald Mountain, moose peeping, and white water rafting. Judy loved long car rides, looking for eagles and other wild life. Family was everything to Judy and she enjoyed every minute she got to spend with them. Judy is survived by her son, Scott Dutcher and Lorri Mathewson, Morrisville; daughters and sons-in-law, Lynne and Daryl Buornat, Oriskany, and Lisa and Terry Stanley, Mohawk; grandchildren, Brandon (Bridget) Dutcher, Matthew Dutcher (Chelle), Miranda Buornat, Sierra Stanley, Lorelei Stanley, Kristoffer Stanley, Kaitlyn (Justin) Thayer, and Kyle (Sierra) Durfee; great-grandchildren, John and Delia Dutcher, Brayden, Jack, and Sophie Thayer, Greyson and Sullivan Durfee; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends. Judy leaves behind her special canine companion, Lady. She is predeceased by her brothers and sister-in-law, Donald Parsons, and Allen (Gloria) Parsons; daughter-in-law, Terri Dutcher; and friends that she held close to her heart. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Cindy, Shirley, and Lorretta for their care and companionship to their mother. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2:00-4:00 at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home, 100 Otsego St., Ilion. At the conclusion of calling hours, a service will commence at 4:00 with Pastor Brian Engle officiating. In lieu of floral offerings, a donation may be made in Judy’s name to the Herkimer County Humane Society, 514 NY-5S, Mohawk, NY 13407 or to Hospice and Palliative Care, 4277 Middle Settlement Rd, New Hartford, NY 13413.
