Ilion - Mrs. Barbara Mae Maley, 88, of Ilion, passed away, Thursday, December 22, 2022 in Little Falls Hospital with her family by her side. She was born in New York City on May 4, 1934, the daughter of the late John and Marion Von Ohlen Willse. She was married to George Maley on September 28, 1952 in Queens, NY. A blessed union of 70 years. Barbara was employed as an Office Manager with Woolworth’s in Long Island for many years. She was also employed in Watertown as a Truent Officer. Her family knew her as a wonderful wife, mother, cook and artist. Barb is survived by her beloved husband, George; one son and daughter in law, Lee and Kim Maley of Ilion; three daughters and sons in law, Lynn and Ted Mowers of Ilion, Jan and Dr. David Heap of Herkimer, Lois Holden of Preble, NY; one daughter in law, Kim Maley; one brother, John Willse of FL; two sisters, Gloria Woodward and Joyce Switz, both of FL; 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by one son, Steven Maley; and one son in law Scott Holden. Barb's funeral will be held Thursday, December 29, 2022 at 5:00 PM from the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home, 100 Otsego St. in Ilion with Rev. Victor McKusick officiating. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 3:00 PM until the time of services in the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home, 100 Otsego St. in Ilion. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Barbara's memory may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Ilion’s Basement Fund, 90 Morgan St. Ilion, NY 13357.
