BROWNVILLE- Gloria M. Ainsworth, 83 of State Route 12B Brownville passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at Sunset Nursing and Rehab Center, Boonville, NY, where she has been since March 2020. She was born on April 16, 1937 in Carthage, NY. the daughter of the late George and Mary (Martin) Gardner. She was a graduate of Carthage High School. Besides being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker Gloria enjoyed playing cards, crocheting and hours putting puzzles together. On June 18, 1956 she untied in marriage to her husband of 61 years the late Christopher Ainsworth, Jr. at the Grace Episcopal Church, Carthage, NY with Rev. Donald C. Schneider, rector, officiating. Mr. Ainsworth predeceased her on September 20, 2017. She was employed by Chesebrough-Ponds of Watertown where she worked most her adult life and retired with more than 20 years of service. She is survived by her sons Christopher Ainsworth and his wife Melody, Rochester, MN, Steve Ainsworth (Pamela Mosher), Little Falls, NY, Eric Ainsworth and his wife Mary, Pomona Park, FL, daughters Barb Ainsworth and (Eduardo), Fort McCoy, FL, Karen Brown and her husband Mike, Cunta Gorda, FL, sisters Yvonne Forsythe, Fargo, NY, Linda Rupert and her husband Jim, Castorland, NY, sister in law Shirley Gardner, Carthage, NY, 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Christopher Jr and parents George and Mary Gardner, a brother Leon Gardner. Gloria’s family and friends will gather for a Graveside service and celebration of her life at a time yet to be announced. She will be laid to rest with her husband Christopher in Brownville Cemetery, across from the family home.
