Ilion Walter Charles Nestle, 85, formerly of Harrison Ave. in Ilion passed away on Thursday November 25, 2010 at Valley Health Service in Herkimer. Walt was born in Ft. Plain on December 29, 1924 the son of the late Walter and Florence (Sponable) Nestle. He was a graduate of Ft. Plain Schools and worked as an inspector at Remington Arms until his retirement in 1985. On August 20, 1949 he married the former Mary Istle in Canajoharie, Mary passed away on September 1, 2005. Walt is survived by his daughters; Rosanne and her husband Douglas Graham of Ilion and Patricia and her husband Ronald Buchinski of Bellingham, WA; a brother Donald and his wife Irene Nestle of Canajoharie; also five grand and nine great grandchildren. He was pre deceased by a sister Virginia Trumble. Funeral services for Walter will be held at a time and date to be announced at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home Inc. 100 Otsego St. in Ilion. Pastor Chris Wintermute of the Little Falls First Baptist Church will officiate; interment will follow at the Armory Hill Cemetery in Ilion.
