Obituary of David A. Marlow

Frankfort - David A. Marlow Sr., 70, died Thursday, December 24, 2009 at the Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown following a battle with cancer.
Born in Malone NY on 9/10/39, He was the son of the late Allen & Gertrude Marlow. He attended schools in Malone, NY. In 1959 he married Ruth Barrington which ended in divorce. On 10/16/69 he married Betty (Horning) Richards. She passed away on 6/25/78 after nearly 10 years of marriage. He then married Grace Kane on 11/27/79 which ended in divorce in 1988
He was employed as a Machinist for at Chicago Pneumatic, Bendix and later Lucas Aerospace all in Utica until retirement in 1990. He was also Assistant Fire Chief of the Frankfort Center Volunteer Fire Department.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and bowling and spending time with his family.
He is survived by one son, David Jr. & companion (Brenda Youker) of Ilion, NY., Stepchildren, Ronald Richards, Darlene (& Jerry Bowling) of South Carolina, Barbara (& Gary Zolacha) of Utica, NY, and Duain Richards & companion (Georgia Rando) of Mohawk NY.
He is also survived by two brothers, Gordon & Geraldine Marlowe & Earl & Carolyn Marlow, both from Malone, NY., four sisters and a brother-in law, Margaret Abare & Anita Payne of Malone, Theresa Wells of Herkimer & Elizabeth & James Savage of Fulton.
He was predeceased by four brothers, Gilbert,George, Edward & Ronald and four Sisters, Lydia Belair, Harriet Dufrane, Nellie Duquette, Josephine Dufrane
In keeping with David's wishes there will be no funeral services. Arrangements are with Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home, Inc., 100 Otsego Street, Ilion, New York 13357.
The family wishes to thank Catskill Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc., 542 Main Street, Oneonta, New York 13820 for all the care and compassion.

The Whiter Funeral Company was started in 1893 by H.A. Whiter and was originally located in Forestport, NY. Following a fire in Forestport, the family relocated in Ilion, and reopened the funeral home in the early 1900's.
