Jane Price, 91 of Indianapolis formerly of Ilion passed away on Friday September 30, 2011 in Indianapolis.
Jane was born on December 21, 1919 in Ilion the daughter of the late William and Erma (Kellogg) Bass. She was educated in Mohawk and worked as assistant curator at the Seward House in Auburn retiring in 1989. In 1939 she married Virgil Price, he passed away in 2010.
Jane is survived by her sons; Steve and his wife Cathy of Indianapolis and Thomas and his wife Carol of West Winfield; her daughter Janet and her husband Melvin of Ilion; her sisters Ruth and her husband Ralph Dupree of Ilion and Barbara and Dick Jones of Oneida; a son in law Raymond Ludwig of Cayuga and a daughter in law Eileen Price of Odessa, NY; 15 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was pre deceased by a sons Gary and Timothy and a daughter Dawn Ludwig.
Funeral services for Jane will be held on Saturday October 8, 2011 at 11:30am at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home Inc. 100 Otsego St. in Ilion. Rev. Victor McKusick will officiate; interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Herkimer. Friends may call on Saturday from 10am until the time of the funeral. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in Jane's memory.

The Whiter Funeral Company was started in 1893 by H.A. Whiter and was originally located in Forestport, NY. Following a fire in Forestport, the family relocated in Ilion, and reopened the funeral home in the early 1900's.
