Ilion Vivian W. Costello, 92, formerly of 80 East North St. and Mohawk Valley Health Care in Ilion for the past 5 months. Passed away, on Monday September 14, 2009, at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Utica. Vivian was born on September 26, 1916 in Little Falls the daughter of the late Leon and Hazel (Wright) Ward. She was educated in Ilion and Utica following school she was clerk at Robert Frasier Dept. Store. On September 5, 1936 she married Donald Costello in Little Falls; he passed away August 10, 2000. Vivian was a member of the Ilion Methodist Church, the Evening Star Chapter of OES, and a charter member of the Mohawk Valley Hospital Guild and a member of the AARP. Vivian is survived by her daughters Diane and her husband Edmund Bolster of Charlotte, NC and Sandra Rivers of East Rochester, NY. Her seven grandchildren Ellen Bischoff, Terry Rivers, Kathy Rivers, Kim Rivers-VanNess, Sue Schirtz and her husband Mark, Steve Bolster and Julie Ann Rivers-Cochran. Her niece Janet MacLauchlin, and three nephews William MacLauchlin and his wife Janice, Harold Costello and his wife Augusta, Clark MacLauchlin and his wife Janice. She also leaves 12 great grandchildren and several great nieces and nephews. She was pre deceased by her half brother William MacLauchlin. Graveside services for Vivian will be held on Saturday September 19, 2009 at 1:00pm in the Fairview Cemetery in Little Falls. Reverend Robert Wollaber will officiate. In keeping Vivian's wishes there are no calling hours. Vivian's family wish to thank Janice and Clark MacLauchlin for all they did for our mother and grandmother for the past 9 years, and to Mohawk Valley Health Care for their care and compassion over the last few months. In lieu of flowers friends are asked to consider memorial donations to the Food Bank of Central New York. Envelops are available at the funeral home.
