Ilion Date Line Eva Edick, 93 formerly of 281 North Columbia Road Ilion passed away Saturday June 18, 2011 at the Masonic Care Community Utica. She was born March 15, 1918 in Connemaugh Pa the daughter of the late Constantine (Kosty) and Mary (Heynka) Madaras. Eva was one of eleven children raised on the family farm in Richfield Springs. In June of 1936 she married Albert Edick . Mr. Edick passed away January 5, 1971. Mrs. Edick owned the family farm with her husband until 1971 and then continued helping with the farm until 1983. Eva loved to cook for all her family and friends, and loved to travel. Eva was member of the North Columbia Community Church. She is survived her daughter and son in law Carol and William Mack of Ilion, a granddaughter and her husband Sandra and Gary Wadsworth of Ilion, a great granddaughter Alyssa Wadsworth of Ilion, a brother and sister in law Frank and Eleanor Madaras of Richfield Springs, two sisters in law Beatrice Madaras of Clinton, and Betty Madaras of Portland OR. She was predeceased by five brothers John, Danial, Andrew, Michael and Harry Madaras, and four sisters Anna Knowles, Pat Nichols, Martha Brelinski, and Mary French. Funeral services for Mrs. Edick will be held on Tuesday June 21, 2011 at 11:00 AM from the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home, Inc., 100 Otsego Street, Ilion, NY with Rev. Hans Drews officiating. Interment will follow in the North Columbia Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday June 20, 2011 from 5:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home. Friends are asked to consider memorials to the North Columbia Community Church in Eva's memory. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
